Deltamethrin 2.5% WP,
a potent insecticide, targets a wide range of pests including mosquitoes, flies, and cockroaches. Deltamethrin, the active component, belongs to the pyrethroids class of insecticides and functions by disrupting the nervous system of insects. The 2.5% concentration in a Wettable Powder (WP) formulation allows for easy mixing with water and is designed for broad application through spraying. It is effective against a variety of pests including aphids, beetles, caterpillars, and other species that threaten agricultural crops and public health by vectoring diseases. This product is valued for its quick knockdown effect, long-lasting residual activity, and its relatively safe profile for non-target organisms when used appropriately.

Worker Safety

Deltamethrin 2.5% WP

Health Hazards:

  • Harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin.
  • May cause skin irritation.
  • May cause serious eye damage.
  • Harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.

Precautionary Measures:

  • Wear protective gloves, clothing, eye protection, and face protection.
  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke when handling the product.
  • Avoid release to the environment.
  • In case of ingestion, rinse mouth and seek medical help immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
  • In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
  • In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Obtain medical attention if irritation persists.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Wear protective clothing, suitable mask or face shield, rubber gloves, and rubber boots when handling and mixing the product.
  • Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly before eating, drinking, or smoking, and after work.
  • Avoid inhalation of dust or spray mist.

Environmental Hazards:

  • Harmful to aquatic life and honey bees. Avoid contamination of water bodies.
  • Do not spray directly onto bees or when bees are active in the crops.
